Uzbekistani women wear these long tassel panels in their hair. Called 'soch popuk' they are often seen buttoned to a coat under the hair with the tassels peeking coquettishly out from underneath. This set is not old, but is very full and the colors are still bright. Metal and glass beads, crochet and metallic thread. These work well attached to a belt, or take them apart and use the tassels individually. Silk / cotton blend. Length is about 18.5 inches, width is 17 inches.
