These belt bases are made from the salvaged sleeves of old decorative Afghani dresses.  They are usually covered in all kinds of metal bits, colorful fabric and other decorative items.  They can easily be made into a one-piece tribal belt, or cut in half to make a two-piece belt.  These pieces are older and it is recommended that they be sewn to a new base so they are not subjected to excessive stress. 

This base is made of  green fabric and is adorned with silver braid, flat Turkoman buttons, beading, colorful poms and chain fringe.  Decorated portion of base fabric is about 31.5 inches long and about 4 inches wide.  Chain fringe is 2.25 inches long.   Top undecorated portion of fabric can be turned under or trimmed.  Perfect for a custom-made costuming belt.
