9 extra large Turkoman bells on a chain.  I've seen lots of these sets, and I'm not sure if they are camel bells, or if they serve some other purpose, but my feeling is that they are supposed to be somehow attached to a headpiece.  All matching bells, extra large with a very loud jingle.  About 1.25 inch across and 1-5/8 inches long, including the small bale at the top.  All bells still have the small clapper ball inside of them.  Chain is 14 inches long.  Use as they are, attached to the chain or take them apart and use separate bells anywhere on your costume!  A very nice set of vintage tribal bells.

Please note:  These are USED bells that may have previously adorned clothing, accessories, animal trappings or other items.  There are minor flaws on these bells that may include small dents, discoloration or other defects.  We recommend shipment in a box by priority mail to prevent crushing or other damage during shipping.

The Turkoman are an ethnic group native to Central Asia, primarily the Turkmen nation state of Turkmenistan. Smaller communities are also found in Iran, Afghanistan, North Caucasus (Stavropol Krai), and northern Pakistan.  The major Turkmen tribes are Teke, Yomut, Ersari, Chowdur and Saryk. The most numerous are the Teke.  The Turkmen lifestyle was heavily invested in horsemanship and horse-breeding.  In spite of changes prompted by the Soviet period, the Turkmen have remained very well known for their horses, the Akhal-Teke desert horse and also for their unique and beautiful jewelry traditions.
